What MeetSafe Does
MeetSafe helps you set a safety check-in, choose trusted contacts, and ask those contacts to follow up if you press Not OK or do not confirm you are okay in time.
MeetSafe is not an emergency service and does not contact police, ambulance, fire, emergency numbers, or emergency services for you.
How Alerts Work
Alerts are designed to notify the trusted contacts you choose. Delivery can fail or be delayed due to device settings, network availability, permissions, notification delivery, SMS provider availability, app store services, and whether your trusted contact is available to respond.
Not OK And Request Help
Pressing Not OK or requesting help is a signal to your chosen trusted contact that you want them to follow up. It does not contact emergency services automatically.
Missed Check-In Or Checkout
If you do not confirm you are okay before a check-in or checkout timer expires, MeetSafe can create a missed check-in or missed checkout alert for your chosen contact.
Missed check-in alerts are intended to help your chosen contact follow up. They do not contact emergency services automatically.
SMS Fallback
SMS fallback may be available for eligible Pro or test-Pro users. SMS is not guaranteed. SMS availability depends on runtime eligibility, plan, delivery provider, phone and network availability, and the recipient device.
SMS fallback is a backup delivery path, not a replacement for calling emergency services in an urgent situation.
Troubleshooting
Notifications are not appearing
- Check that notifications are allowed for MeetSafe in your device settings.
- Check Focus, Do Not Disturb, battery saver, and background app settings.
- Open the app while connected to the internet and try the check-in flow again.
Your responder did not receive an alert
- Confirm the trusted contact details are correct.
- Ask the contact to check their notifications, messages, signal, and blocked sender settings.
- Remember that alert delivery and responder availability are not guaranteed.
SMS was not received
- Confirm SMS fallback is available for your account and plan.
- Check the recipient phone number and mobile network availability.
- SMS delivery can be delayed, blocked, filtered, or unavailable depending on the carrier, provider, and device.
Update trusted contacts or default safety buddy
Open the app and manage your trusted contacts or default safety buddy from the contact or safety buddy settings area.
Request account deletion
You can request account deletion from inside the app if available, or by contacting us at privacy@meetsafe.io. If in-app deletion is not available in your installed version, use the email request path.
