MeetSafe is not an emergency service. MeetSafe does not contact police, ambulance, fire, emergency numbers, or emergency services for you.
Alerts can fail or be delayed due to device settings, network availability, permissions, notification delivery, SMS provider availability, app store services, and responder availability. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent medical help, call your local emergency services now.
Information We May Collect
We collect information needed to provide safety check-ins, alert delivery, account support, and service reliability.
- Account email and user ID.
- Name or display name if you provide one.
- Trusted contact or safety buddy name and phone number.
- Default safety buddy setting.
- Rendezvous and check-in details, including title, time, address or venue, notes, and status.
- Location information if a MeetSafe feature collects or uses location with your permission.
- Alert state, such as Not OK, missed check-in, missed checkout, assist requested, or assist resolved.
- Push notification tokens and device delivery metadata.
- SMS audit metadata where fallback is triggered.
- Entitlement or subscription state.
- Referral attribution data if you came through a referral link.
- Support and admin logs needed to help operate and protect the service.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your MeetSafe account.
- To schedule check-ins, send reminders, and update check-in status.
- To send alerts to your chosen trusted contacts when you press Not OK, request help, miss a check-in, or miss a checkout.
- To support eligible Pro or test-Pro SMS fallback where available.
- To manage subscription or entitlement access.
- To respond to support requests, troubleshoot delivery issues, and protect service integrity.
Trusted Contacts
You should only add trusted contacts who have agreed to be contacted by you through MeetSafe. Your chosen contacts may receive information needed to understand the check-in or alert, such as your name, check-in details, and the alert state.
Third-Party Providers
MeetSafe may use service providers to operate the app and deliver alerts. These providers process information for us and may process it in other countries where they or their systems operate.
- Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, functions, and notifications.
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notification delivery.
- Twilio for SMS fallback.
- Apple and Google app store platforms where relevant for app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and account platform services.
Advertising And Sale Of Data
MeetSafe does not sell personal information. MeetSafe does not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Your Choices And Requests
You can manage trusted contacts, default safety buddy settings, and app permissions through the app and your device settings where available.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us at privacy@meetsafe.io.
You can request account deletion from inside the app if available, or by contacting us at privacy@meetsafe.io.
If in-app account deletion is not available in your installed version, contact privacy@meetsafe.io and we will help with the request.
Retention And Security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide MeetSafe, support users, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security.
